Amtrak 486 accelerates out of Croton-Harmon station with an Albany-bound Empire Corridor train in tow. It was apparently a very hazy fall day in the Hudson River Valley.

The scrapping of a classic. At the Morristown & Erie facility amid a pile of trucks and wheel sets, the former Amtrak 486 was backed into position to let the scrappers finish their work.

The scrapping of a classic. Having been off the Amtrak roster for about 2003, the Morristown & Erie decided it was time to let this one go for good.

Amtrak FL9 486 leads westbound train #63, the "Maple Leaf," along the Hudson River past Pollepel Island and Bannerman's Castle.
